Narcotics/Vice Unit 2001 Statistics

During 2001, one weapon was flourished at Narcotic/Vice Unit investigators during an investigation. There were one hundred and forty seven (147) investigations where weapons were present and three hundred and fifty nine (359) weapons were seized as a result of investigations.

In 2001, the Narcotic Vice Unit recorded three thousand one hundred and fifty three (3153) incidents. These incidents included one thousand and eight (1008) purchases. Purchases included marijuana, Alphadrol, Chlorazene, cocaine, crack cocaine, Ecstasy, Darvon, Diazepam, Dilaudid, Ephedrine, Heroin, Hydrocodone, Lorazepam, LSD, marijuana, marijuana cigarettes, methamphetamine, morphine tablets, Naproxen, Oxycontin, Paxil, Percocet, Percodan, Psilocybin, Roxicet, Soma, Valium, Vicodin and Xanax.

During the year 2001, the Narcotic Vice Unit officers spent three hundred and eight thousand nine hundred and eight dollars and thirty three cents ($308,908.33) of buy money. The purchases and seizures included 14 Alprazolam tablets, 50 Clonzaepam tablets, 3395.26 pounds of cocaine, 7.82 pounds of crack cocaine, 2 Diazepam tablets, 7 Dilaudid tablets, 1081 Ecstasy tablets, 503.28 pounds of ephedrine, .18 ounces of hashish oil, .02 pounds of Hashish, 1.74 ounces of heroin, 60 Hydrocodone tablets, 14 Lorazepam tablets, 101 LSD tablets, 30,696.90 pounds of marijuana, 25 marijuana cigarettes, .035 ounces of marijuana seeds, 32.67 pounds of methamphetamine, 2 morphine tablets, 8 Naproxen tablets, .35 ounces of Opium, 230 Oxycontin tablets, 19 Paxil tablets, 41 Percocet tablets, 9 Percodan tablets, 12.04 ounces of pseudoephedrine (crushed) and 2378 pseudoephedrine tablets, 2.61 ounces of Psilocybin, 1 Roxicet tablet, 20 Soma tablets, 960 Sudafed tablets, 67 Valium, 5 Vicodin tablets and 250 Xanax tablets and weapons.

There were three hundred (300) search warrants, two hundred and seventy eight (278) consent searches, four (4) reverse stings, sixty (60) distributions, seventeen (17) controlled deliveries, sixteen (16) buy busts and one thousand four hundred and forty eight (1448) other reportable incidents and investigations.

One hundred and four (104) Interdiction stops were conducted by road officers. As a result of these stops, there were one hundred and one (101) Interdiction follow-ups which consisted of interviewing suspects, conducting search warrants as well as performing controlled deliveries. This allowed for multiple follow-up investigations, additional property and drugs seized as well as additional suspects being arrested.
