EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT

Prerequisite: First-Line Supervision and Management Development training programs.

Course Description: This school focuses on major problems that plague the chief executive officer.  Topics include budgeting, management of change, administrative law (ADA, EEO, Title VII, employee drug testing, etc.), the evolution of American policing, policing in the 21st century, resources available to the police executive, and developing cooperative relationships.  The cost for this training includes a textbook, which may be retained by the student at the end of the school.

Who Should Attend: This course is designed for the administrative/management employee of a criminal justice agency.  Patrol employees attending this class should be a lieutenant or higher or in an equivalent civilian position.

Tuition/Registration Fees: Registration fees are due by the first day of class.  If fees are not paid in full prior to completion of class, certificates and continuing education hours will not be issued unless payment is received.

Cost:

  • $440 - tuition, meals, and lodging
  • $260 - tuition and meals

Continuing Education Hours:

  • 24 hours of Technical Studies
  • 4 hours of Legal Studies
  • 2 hours of Interpersonal Perspectives
