K-9 Program
The Missouri State Highway Patrol started a K-9 program in 1988. Initially, the Patrol assigned four K-9's to Troops around the State. Today the Patrol has eleven teams.
Patrol K-9's play an important role in a number of law enforcement functions to include tracking, drug detection, building and area searches, crowd control, evidence searches and officer protection.
