How can I find an inspection station?
A:The Motor Vehicle Inspection Division receives numerous calls and
emails requesting a list of inspection stations for a particular area.
We are unable to recommend one station over another to the citizens of Missouri.

Generally, all new car dealerships perform inspections. Many garages that repair
vehicles are licensed to perform inspections. They will display a large yellow sign
with black lettering designating them as an official inspection station.
If you are still unable to locate an inspection station, you may want to contact the
Motor Vehicle Inspection Unit nearest you for further assistance.

What are the fees for the inspection?
A: Inspection stations may charge a fee of up to $12.00 for passenger
vehicles and trucks, and $10.00 for motorcycles.
What if the Missouri inspection expires while my vehicle is in another state?
A: You will be allowed to register your vehicle with the Department
of Revenue's Motor Vehicle Bureau while residing out of state temporarily, without
obtaining a safety inspection. A safety inspection must be obtained within ten (10)
days of the vehicle returning to the state.
