Narcotics/Vice Unit 2000 Statistics

During 2000, four weapons were flourished at Narcotic/Vice Unit investigators during investigations. All four investigations were methamphetamine laboratory seizure related. There were two hundred and nine (209) investigations where weapons were present and six hundred and fifty four (654) weapons were seized as a result of investigations.

In 2000, the Narcotic Vice Unit recorded two thousand eight hundred and eighty nine (2889) incidents. These incidents included nine hundred and thirty eight (938) purchases. Purchases included ninety-five (95) cocaine buys, two hundred and forty one (241) crack cocaine buys, three Diazepam buys, seven Ecstasy buys, one Fentanyl buy, three Heroin buys, two Hydrocodone buys, four Klonopin buys, two LSD buys, three hundred and forty four (344) marijuana buys, four marijuana cigarette buys, one hundred and eighty (180) methamphetamine buys, four Morphine buys, one Neurontin buy, four Oxcontin buys, one Percocet buy, two Phenobarbital buys, three Psilocybin buys, one Ritalin buy, one Soma buy, three Valium buys, three Xanax buys, miscellaneous prescription drugs, pseudoephedrine, Heet, eight weapons including fully automatic assault rifle and silencer, 300 rounds of ammunition, 2 stolen 1996 Chevrolet pickup trucks, acid doses, Alprazolan, Ativan and Clonazepam.

During the year, the Narcotic Vice Unit officers seized 51 acid doses, 22 Alprazolam, 20 Ativan, 20 Clonazepam, 294.51 pounds of cocaine, 5.51 pounds of crack cocaine, 186 Diazepam tablets, 198 Ecstasy tablets, 3.76 ounces of ephedrine, 1 Fentanyl tablet, 1/2 gallon GHB, .25 ounces of Hashish, .09 ounces of Heroin, 182 Hydrocodone tablets, .73 ounces of imitation controlled substances, .14 ounces of Ketamine, 61 Klonopin tablets, 450 LSD tablets, 23,820.73 pounds of marijuana, 10 marijuana cigarettes, 488 marijuana plants, 2 grams of marijuana seeds, approximately 67 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.5 ounces of morphine, Neurontin, 1.009 ounces of Opium, 18 Oxycontin tablets, 5 Percocet tablets, 36 Phenobarbital tablets, 70 prescription pills, 2.53 ounces Psilocybin, 2 ounces of pseudoephedrine, 4.5 ounces of Red Phosphorus, .035 ounces of unknown brown powder, 95 Ritalin, 8 Soma tablets, 5 Trazodone tablets, 10 Tylenol #3 with codeine tablets, 265 Valium tablets and 308 Xanax tablets.

There were three hundred and thirty six (336) search warrants, two hundred and seventy four (274) consent searches, two reverse stings, fifty nine (59) distributions, twenty four (24) controlled deliveries, three (3) conspiracies, ten (10) buy busts and nine hundred and sixty two (962) other reportable incidents and investigations.

One hundred and thirty six (136) Interdiction stops were conducted by road officers. As a result of these stops, there were one hundred and forty five (145) follow-ups which consisted of interviewing suspects, conducting search warrants as well as performing controlled deliveries. This allowed for multiple follow-up investigations to be attributed to one road stop. As a result of follow-up investigations, additional property and drugs were seized as well as additional suspects being arrested.
