Troop A is located on US-50 at the MO-291 intersection in Lee's Summit, MO, Jackson County. Troop A is one of the original six troops established in 1931. Its headquarters was first located in Kansas City, but in 1938 was moved to Lee's Summit. There are 122 uniformed officers, 91 uniformed civilians, and 18 civilian employees assigned to this troop.

Troop A serves the following counties: Bates, Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clay, Henry, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, Platte, Ray, and Saline.
